Community Projects Terreiro de Ògún
Terreiro de Ògún is in an active stage of growth and community development. While some of the projects outlined below are currently operating, others are in planning or early development stages as our community and resources continue to grow.
All projects reflect our long-term commitment to cultural preservation, social support, and community service. Participation in our activities is open to the public, and some initiatives may require prior registration due to space, safety, or cultural protocols.
Community members and volunteers who are interested in participating in, supporting, or learning more about our projects are welcome to contact us directly.

Ìwà Pẹ̀lẹ̀ – Food & Clothing Donation Drive
Regular collection and distribution of essential food items and clean clothing for vulnerable community members, including migrants, single parents, and people in transition.
Community volunteers assist with sorting, preparation, and distribution, ensuring support is delivered with care, dignity, and respect.
Àkọ́kọ́ Ẹ̀kọ́ – Cultural Education & Workshops
Regular educational sessions focused on Yorùbá cosmology, Candomblé traditions, language, music, and drumming, delivered through talks, workshops, and cultural demonstrations.
We also collaborate with Aboriginal Elders and cultural practitioners to share knowledge and promote respectful cultural exchange.

Àfọ̀mọ̀ – English Support Program & CV Hub
English conversation practice and job-readiness support, including CV preparation, interview practice, and referrals to publicly available employment and settlement resources.
This program is supported by community volunteers and is intended to assist people building confidence and independence in a new environment.
Àṣẹ ò! – Afro-Brazilian Food & Cultural Events
Community cultural events that celebrate Afro-Brazilian food traditions through cooking demonstrations, storytelling, drumming, and capoeira.
These events promote cultural understanding and connection, and may also support fundraising for the Terreiro’s charitable and community activities.

Àbọ̀rẹ́ – Settlement & Community Support
Informal community-based support for new arrivals and people navigating settlement challenges, including guidance on accessing public services, understanding local systems, and building social connections.
Support is offered on a peer and community basis and does not replace professional or government services.
